Vince and Bubby have been quite the local theater enthusiasts lately! Last weekend they saw "Willy Wonka" in Torrance and this weekend they saw "Shrek" in Redondo Beach.

Of course outings with Vince tend to yield funny little stories. Here are the cute quips that Bubby shared with us from their two theater dates:

Bubby: I'm so excited; I get to spend the afternoon with someone I really love!
Vince: Who?

When a couple said, "Excuse me," and passed by to find their seats in the row, Vince exclaimed, "Welcome to Row D!"

At intermission Vince ventured down to the orchestra pit to check things out. He ran back and said, "I saw a French horn!" Then back and forth again: "I saw a trombone!" And again: "I saw an oboe!" And one last time, "One of the music men waved at me!"

When the golden tickets were found during "Willy Wonka," the stage lit up with the characters' names. Vince was really excited when Violet won, and announced, "V like Vince!" And again when Veruca Salt won, of course.

Bubby and Vince brought gummy bears in as a treat. Bubby leaned over and asked for one, to which Vince replied, "You already had one."

When they got home, I asked Vince if he liked the show. "Yes," he replied. "But there were only people, no peregrine falcons." (Thanks for teaching him about that cool animal, Wild Kratts.)
Given how much he loved his two most recent outings, and how much he loved "Peter Pants" back in February, I'm sure he'll be back on the theater scene with his best date very soon!
