"The Best Birthday I've Ever Had"

I had the hugest smile on my face when I overheard this bedtime conversation tonight:

Vince: "Daddy, did you have a happy birthday?"
Peter: "I really did, Vince.  It was the best birthday I've ever had."

Considering that he had to wake up at 4:45am to go in for some weekend work, I think that's saying quite a lot!

Maybe it was the surprise waiting for him in the kitchen in the wee hours of the morning ...

... or the suggestion that we do one of his very favorite activities in honor of his special day ...

... or that we had one of the most delicious lunches ever at the amazing New York Deli that Mom found in Torrance ...

... or that he got to spend some quality, fun time with his little boys ...

... or that Vince worked so hard with Bubby to make some delicious treats for him ...

... or that we had a houseful of love and laughter to honor his 34th birthday ...

... but I think was probably all of the above.
